As the town grows quiet and Leica Welt is immersed in the festive spirit of the season, an extraordinary experience begins. On two evenings in December, “Silent Night” opens the doors to the historic Leica Archive – a place steeped in history that is usually hidden from public view. On 2 and 16 December 2026, visitors will have the rare opportunity to join tour guide Tim Pullmann on a fascinating journey through the history of the Leica brand.

Stepping inside the archive, guests will discover remarkable treasures spanning more than a century of photographic and technological history. Previously unpublished drawings, prototype lenses, original shipping records from the 1960s and iconic cameras tell the stories of groundbreaking innovations, extraordinary ideas and the people behind the Leica brand. Tim Pullmann guides visitors through the archive’s hidden treasures, sharing fascinating background stories and offering fresh perspectives on the evolution of Leica photography.

“Silent Night” is more than a traditional guided tour. It is an invitation to experience Leica’s rich heritage from a different perspective and take a moment to pause and reflect in the special atmosphere of the festive season. An experience that brings together technological history and emotion, leaving lasting impressions long after the evening has ended.

The “Silent Night” archive tours take place on Wednesday, 2 and 16 December 2026, at 6:00 p.m. The meeting point is the reception desk at the Ernst Leitz Museum, Leica Welt in Wetzlar. Each tour lasts approximately 90 to 120 minutes. Tickets cost €15 per person and are available via Eventbrite.
